Online digital talent contest launched

Bands and artists from around the world can now earn prestige and cash prizes, thanks to an online digital talent contest created by Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Its virtual performance stage is located online within the whiskey's social network website at www.buffalotracesaloon.com.

" We love great whiskey and great music, " said Buffalo Trace brand manager Kris Comstock. " Both take talent, patience and dedication to the craft. We respect those uncompromising musicians that are true to their music, just as we respect smooth whiskey. " Buffalo Trace, the flagship brand of America's oldest continuously operating distillery, will give a grand prize of $5, 000, along with monthly prizes of $500 for contest winners. To join the contest, bands and artists should upload a few songs to the digital jukebox on the saloon website. Buffalo Trace Saloon members will then listen and vote for their favorites. The band or artist receiving the most votes during the contest wins. " Our website has thousands of bourbon drinking members who already enjoy all sorts of games, videos and entertainment, " continued Comstock. " The Battle of the Bands will give them another reason to enjoy the saloon – and give the next great band a place to showcase their music. " The contest is live and will continue through to 1 July 2011 – when the grand prize of $5, 000 will be awarded.
