Arena Group shows off Arcus

Arena Group provided extensive temporary facilities, including its new ‘Arcus’ structure to the 141st Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes, 19th- 22nd July 2012.

The prestigious four day golfing tournament, organised by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club, saw leading players from across the world compete for the coveted Claret Jug and witnessed new champion golfer, South Africa’s Ernie Els clinch the title against Australia’s Adam Scott.

Arena Group installed two of its latest premier Arcus structure curved roof double decks, which was launched earlier this year. The structures offered VIP guests an improved viewing experience overlooking the final holes on the course from its cantilevered balcony.

Both of the contemporary designed, multi-storey structures featured our interior design service complimenting the high class standards of the Championship’s patrons, which include Doosan, HSBC, Nikon, Mastercard, Ralph Lauren, Rolex and Mercedes-Benz.

In addition, Arena Group also supplied over 20,000 sq metres of public village, media centres, R&A organiser’s facilities and a series of restaurants whilst sister company Spaceworks provided all furniture for the use of course officials, players, international media and VIPs.

Mark Shelley, Arena Group’s senior project manager comments;

“We‘ve worked with The R&A for over 30 years and each year the venue changes, which sets us new challenges. The Open Championship demands the very highest of standards and our aim is to continually improve facilities and create better environments each and every year.

“Arcus was developed to give clients a premier entertainment and viewing facility and offer additional creative design possibilities. We’ve received great feedback from the R&A and all the Championship patrons.”
