Celebrate Russian success

Sport Business News

UK companies have been among the most active in Russia in recent years, across various sectors. It's time that success was publicly acknowledged!

The Russo–British Chamber of Commerce (RBCC) Awards Ceremony will take place on 22 June 2011 at the Institute of Directors, London. Russia remains an important and attractive destination for UK exports of products and services. From January to November 2010, exports of goods to Russia increased 51% on the same period in 2009. Russian exports to the UK increased by 18% over the same period. Over 600 British businesses have a base in Russia, including Pilkington, Astra Zeneca, Kingfisher, Monsoon, M&S, Mothercare, Bodyshop, GSK, Unilever, BAT, BP and Costa Coffee. There are also lots of opportunities for SMEs too. Western goods and expertise remain in demand. The most promising areas for longer–term activity in Russia are: advanced engineering; airports; construction; creative industries; financial services; ICT; oil and gas; power; rail and water. This event is aimed at celebrating the successes over the past year of those companies already exporting to Russia, and to provide case studies to those companies considering entering the Russian market. It will also offer access to UKTI, RBCC and Albion Overseas representatives who will be able to provide information and advice on doing business in Russia. The RBCC promotes, facilitates and supports business between Russia and the UK. It is independent of government in both countries and is funded by membership fees and event and publication sponsorship. The RBCC aims to be the first point of contact for Russian companies wanting to do business in the UK and for British companies wanting to do business in Russia. The RBCC is a not–for–profit company limited by guarantee that has worked to promote trade and cooperation between the UK and Russia since 1916, helping companies in both countries to find trading partners and representing the interests of its member companies of all sizes. Using its experienced internal resources and its comprehensive network of contacts in companies, national/federal and regional government, diplomatic, and other business associations, the Chamber assists its Members to explore business opportunities and develop and sustain their existing business interests in Russia and the UK. The RBCC runs high–quality conferences, missions and seminars and holds regular business networking events. http://www. rbcc. com
