The Sochi 2014 Organising Committee is opening the tender to select the suppliers that will deliver the catering for the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

The two first procurement procedures will be organised for the Main Media Centre in the Coastal Cluster and Media Sub–Centre in the Mountain Cluster. Receipt of tender applications will continue until the end of 2011 and the selected suppliers will be announced in the second half of 2012. The Main Media Centre in the Coastal Cluster and Media Sub–Centre in the Mountain Cluster, operational between January and March 2014 for the Games, have been specially designed to allow the representatives of television broadcasters, the media and service personnel to work in comfort round–the–clock. A high standard of service for these guests will be implemented by creating restaurants, cafes, food courts and canteens. Within the Main Media Centre, a total of 22 eateries with an area of 12, 000 sq. m will be set up, while in the Media Sub–Centre there will be 11 eateries with an area of 2, 100 sq. m. The number of customers is likely to vary depending on the competition schedule and will total between 10, 000 – 12, 000 people in the Main Media Centre and approximately 2, 000 – 3, 000 people in the Media Sub–Centre. From August 2011 to January 2012, Sochi 2014 plans to launch four requests for market proposals, including over 300 lots for various service points during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi. In total, food will be provided to over 2m guests, spectators and participants of the Winter Olympic Games. Sochi 2014's selection procedure for the best catering suppliers will take place on an equal alternative basis, providing transparency throughout the procurement process. The procurement procedures are regulated by the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, as well as by the Federal Law " On the Organization and Delivery of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi, the Development of the City of Sochi as a Mountain Climate Resort" and include a number of stages. Information about procurement and requirements of suppliers will first be posted on Sochi 2014s website, followed by the receipt and analysis of proposals from all potential suppliers, and, finally, the selection of the best proposals. From 29 August 2011, all tender documentation will be available on the official Organising Committee website. The interested parties will be able to find detailed information about the first two venues, the Main Media Centre in the Coastal Cluster and Media Sub–Centre in the Mountain Cluster, in the Procurement and procurement procedures Section.
