Populous heads to Russia

Sport Business News

Motor Sport Business Forum Russia continues to gain the backing from key stakeholders within motorsport. Populous, the world leader in the design of sports and entertainment buildings, with a portfolio that includes a significant number of motorsport venues among over 1,000 projects around the world, has registered its involvement at this year's forum.

Populous senior principal John Barrow will address delegates at the forum into the benefits of hosting motorsports events, whilst also providing key insight into sustainability measures now being taken in motorsports venue planning and development. In 2010, Populous completed the redevelopment of the Silverstone Raceway with the objective to make it faster, more spectator friendly and one of the most exciting circuits in motorsports. Under direction to incorporate both a MotoGP and Formula 1 in the new design, the track now includes three new grandstands, seven new corners, 760 meters of extra track and a new pit lane – making the new Silverstone faster, more dynamic, and one of the longest and quickest circuits on the MotoGP & GP calendar. Populous is also pleased to have been awarded recent contracts in both Buenos Aires and Mumbai for new motorsport circuits. Motor Sport Business Forum Russia will take place on 18 October 2011 at the Lotte Hotel, Moscow.
