Ticketing systems go head to head at Sport and Technology: The Conference 2009 on 4 June.

The pros and cons of cashless stadia will be discussed at Sport and Technology: The Conference 2009, in association with BT Media and Broadcast, next week on Thursday 4 June at BT Centre in London, alongside issues such as access solutions and mobile ticketing. Chris Bignell, Director, XL Communications; Daniel Gidney, CEO, Ricoh Arena; Paul Jennings, Head of IT, Wembley Stadium; and Randal McLister, Managing Director, Scotcomms Technology Group, will take place in the panel discussion entitled 'Just the ticket – Access innovations, security and the wireless stadium'. Topics up for debate in the panel include: How can ticketing solutions maximise both revenue and strengthen security at a sports venue? How can ticketing systems be future–proofed? Can a stadium experience ever really be cashless for a fan? Are smartcard and ticketless systems too expensive for lower–tier sports/venues to implement? Why would a venue actually decide to go ticketless or cash–free? How are mobile technologies being utilised at sports venues for ticketing and access? Sport and Technology: The Conference 2009 features a variety of respected industry speakers from technology companies, rights owners and brands such as BetFred, BetNOW, BT London 2012, BT Media and Broadcast, Chelsea Digital Media, Football League Interactive, Major Events International, NFL UK, Nike UK and Ireland, PA Sport, Ricoh Arena, Scotcomms Technology Group, Simply Sports, SportBusiness Group, STATS Inc, Tottenham Hotspur, Trent College, UEFA, Wembley Stadium and XL Communications.
