Fast Track has been appointed by Inter Continental Hotels Group (IHG) to provide sports marketing agency services for the next three years to support IHG's status as the official hotel provider to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Fast Track, part of Chime Communications, is one of the UK's leading sports marketing agencies with over 11 years of experience. IHG announced its sponsorship of the 2012 Olympic Games in June 2009, becoming a tier three supplier through its Holiday Inn family of brands. Holiday Inn, along with the other hotels in the IHG portfolio, will provide accommodation and meeting rooms for LOCOG and its partners in the build up to the Games, as well as assisting in planning and operating the Olympic Village which will house the athletes in 2012. Holiday Inn is undergoing the biggest re–launch in the hospitality industry with a £600m investment across more than 3, 200 hotels and 430, 000 rooms worldwide. The re–launch is on track for completion by the end of 2010. Fast Track will work with IHG on the development of the strategy, activation and implementation of all aspects of the sponsorship. Speaking about the deal, Jane Bednall, VP Commercial UK&I, IHG, said: " We were looking for passion and creativity as well as Olympics experience and this is what Fast Track demonstrated. It's a real privilege to be part of the Olympic Games. To have Holiday Inn staff run the athletes village accommodation and have our hotels house the torch overnight as it travels around the country during the torch relay is a once in a lifetime opportunity. " Jim Glover, CEO of Fast Track, said: "We are excited to be working with IHG on such a major 2012 sponsorship and to add the world's largest hotel group, and through Holiday Inn, one of the world's most recognised brands, to our portfolio of clients. Fast Track continues to grow all areas of our business and this latest win comes off the back of a very busy summer for the company, including delivering HSBC's sponsorship of the British & Irish Lions Tour to South Africa, staging all the domestic televised track and field events for UK Athletics and managing the hugely successful UK School Games. "IHG becomes Fast Track's latest client with Olympic and Paralympic connections, joining a number of other brands looking to leverage value from the 2012 Games. Fast Track also runs the successful BT Paralympic World Cup event staged each May that is the second biggest international event for elite athletes with a disability after the Paralympic Games. Headquartered in London, Fast Track has a growing team of over 140 staff with offices in Portsmouth, Glasgow, Madrid and a rapidly expanding office in Abu Dhabi.
