SEM 2009 line-up expands

Ian Ritchie, chief executive of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, which runs the Wimbledon Championships, has joined the world–class line–up for the fourth International Sports Event Management Conference in London on 10 November 2009. MEI is a media partner of the event.

When talking about the opportunity to speak at Sports Event Management Ritchie said: "I am privileged to be involved with Wimbledon and very much look forward to meeting with other event professionals to debate how to further improve sports events, " he said. Ian will be joined by Paul Meulendijk of global sports sponsor MasterCard and Sean Jefferson, leader at Mindshare performance consultancy to discuss: 'Events + Brands: 2 + 2 = 5'. The session will examine the relationship between brands and events and asks how this relationship can be made even more effective. In advance of the Conference Ritchie has commented: "Sport has become increasingly important in this country and, as well as delivering on the pitch or on the court, facilities and event management have to be world–class".
