Visitors to 2010's Edinburgh Festivals, for the first time ever, will be able to embark on one of the most unique, exhilarating and truly unforgettable dining experiences in the world, as DADA Ventures brings 'Dinner in the Sky' to the capital in August.

'Festival in the Sky' , as it will be known during its time in Scotland, promises a once in a lifetime experience which will see guests dare to dine while suspended at a 22 person dinner table more than 100 feet in the air, offering spectacular perspectives of Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street Gardens and sea views. Located in West Princes Street Gardens in the specially created Sky Gardens, 'Festival in the Sky' will run daily from 1–31 August from 8am to 2am* (subject to licence). The fully heated dining table with weather–proof canopy, will be hoisted into the air by crane and holds up to 22 guests seated at an oval table, each of whom are securely fastened into their seats. Each seat turns on a 180 degree axis allowing guests to watch the world go by underneath or admire the iconic city skyline. The unique dining experience has enjoyed massive success in more than 30 other countries as 'Dinner in the Sky' including France, Germany, Dubai, Australia, Canada and Italy. Tickets will start from £25. 00 per person and various packages for groups are available. There will also be a premium bar experience at the foot of the platform on ground level in the Sky Gardens, serving gourmet BBQ, snacks and drinks in a covered and outdoor seating area. The dining experience will take around 30 minutes and guests can book in for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner as well as a range of speciality 'lifts'. Festival in the Sky is perfect for everyone from friends and families (height restrictions apply) to corporate groups and can also be specially booked for a whole range of events from business meetings (with a real difference), birthdays, special occasions to broadcasts, interviews and even weddings. Managing director of event organiser DADA, Oli Norman, said: "There's no doubt that 'Festival in the Sky' will be one of the biggest and most talked about attractions at the Edinburgh Festival this year. It will be unmissable: in its height, its location and as a truly once in a lifetime opportunity to dine with a difference. DADA Ventures is thrilled to be bringing this world class attraction to Scotland for the very first time and to be adding something so exciting to this year's Edinburgh Festivals line up. This is a global attraction which will draw visitors from far and wide and make headlines around the world. "Councillor Steve Cardownie, festivals and events champion for Edinburgh, said: "Festival in the Sky looks certain to become the talk of the town this summer. It's been a huge hit in more than 30 cities all over the world so it's very exciting for us to be giving the event its Scottish debut right here in West Princes Street Gardens during our peak festivals period. Dining in the sky will be memorable enough, but, with the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, our World Heritage Site and the views across the River Forth, this will surely be an unforgettable experience. "Tickets for Festival in the Sky will be available on site at the Sky Garden or through the box office Tel: +44 (0) 131 226 0000.
