The Olympic Delivery Authority has issued details of a tender for footwear for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

LOCOG expects that appointed licensees will already have strong distribution capabilities into retailers in the UK. Companies may register interest in tendering for single or multiple categories. A wide range of intellectual property (IP) will be available to licensees, from the core London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games logos, to Team GB and Paralympics GB logos, mascot(s), and the overall look and feel of the Games. The Product Categories are defined as: 1. Adults footwear a. Wellington boots b. Casual shoes c. Sandals d. Slippers 2. Children's footwear a. Wellington boots b. Casual shoes c. Sandals d. Slipperse. Jellies f. Roller shoes Applications will be considered for single/ multiple product categories as defined above. All sports footwear is excluded from this license. LOCOG seeks to appoint licensees that can demonstrate an effective ability to manage and support a licensing programme and who will take a proactive approach to developing the product range/s for the UK market. In addition, LOCOG is looking for licensees who have the ability to manufacture the required products to consistently high standards of quality, social responsibility and environmental awareness. About the buyer's selection process: Registration of interest in this opportunity closes at midday on Friday 24 September. LOCOG will inform those parties who have been selected through to the next stage of the process by Thursday 30 September.
