IPL architect completes ISEM

Lalit Modi, architect of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which has transformed the presentation and commercial parameters of cricket, will reflect on the success of the IPL and the future of sport in India when he appears at the International Sports Event Management Conference at Twickenham, London, on 3 November 2010.

In a live question and answer session he will discuss the cultural and structural issues raised by Delhi's hosting of the recent Commonwealth Games and consider the steps to be taken if India is to realise its potential to become a major hub for global and regional sports events. Modi, who was chairman and commissioner of the Indian Premier League and the chairman of the Champions League from 2008 to 2010, is the latest name from sport's A–List to join the speaker line–up for ISEM 2010. Others include London 2012 CEO Paul Deighton, Dmitry Chernyshenko, head of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games Organising Committee, Danny Jordaan, the driving force behind FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa and Gilbert Felli of the International Olympic Committee.
