Sport:80 innovates as strategic technology partner for the World Archery Youth Championships

UK-based sports technology organisation, Sport:80 are celebrating a veritable success this month as the World Archery Youth Championships kicks off in Yankton, South Dakota.

12 months prior to the event, Sport:80 met with representatives from the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) and USA Archery to discuss registration requirements for the championships. After sufficiently impressing with their intuitive online platform, Sport:80 made their way back across the Atlantic as strategic technology partner for the competition.

Fast-forward one year and Sport:80 have more than delivered in their role. The sophisticated registration system they designed has automated all areas of the registration process – from athlete and official registration to payments, accommodation, travel and visas.

Jenni Bailey Edmunds, LOC Coordinator for the event EastonYanktonArcheryCentrewas delighted with the results:

“We extensively researched the market in terms of our requirement for sports registration and nothing offered what Sport:80 delivered. The functionality and flexibility of the system, combined with their expertise, makes what they’re offering invaluable to sports organisations like ourselves.”

More than 500 young archers from 50 countries have made their way to the state-of-the-art facilities at the Easton Yankton Archery Centre. Gary Hargraves, CEO of Sport:80 also made the trip to see the event get under way:

“It’s great to be here to see the event kick-off. There has been plenty of hard work behind the scenes and we’re delighted to have played a part with our platform. It was designed to simplify the whole registration process and allow organisers to concentrate more time on what they do best. The feedback we have received is that it has done exactly that and everyone is looking forward to the competition.”

By taking advantage of the system, event organisers have been able to move away from traditional, paper-heavy databases and to a slick online platform. The end result has been a reduction in the workload and spend associated to the registration process. Not only this, but organisers have been able to dedicated more time to the running of the event.
