Another busy period for MEI in which time we have continued to support our clients in Brazil, keeping the Commonwealth Games 2018 Gold Coast in focus and visited and run events on Qatar. Conference and expo partnerships continue to grow and we have just returned from a highly successful Soccerex Global Convention in Manchester. We were delighted to host a panel on Venue Technology with HoK, San Jose Earthquakes and Qatar-based Ooredoo on the panel. The feedback from hearing the reflections of these experts was very positive and will be built on in future years in discussion with Soccerex. Venue Technology and Operations is very much part of MEI Membership focus too and on 26th October, in central London, this is the subject in focus for our inaugural Major Events Summit - both during our Sports Legend Summit dinner and day two of the Summit on 27th October.

Another major project in this period has been the adoption of a large network of companies from the Security sector which previously was UK government funded but has now been incorporated within the MEI Safety, Security and Resilience membership scheme. It is accurately named ‘Security Innovation and Technology Consortium’ (SITC) and is collaborative in nature. The first initiative for SITC focuses on demonstrations to customers taking place at Transport Security Expo in London on 2nd and 3rd December. This vital sector for routine security forces and those involved in Major Events will again feature at the MEI annual summit with their day in focus being 26th October. For both these sectors, if you are interested in attending (at cost only as this is not a conference) do let us know and we will do our best to include you in this limited attendance, highly interactive opportunity.

Members are also enjoying the benefits of working with our Service Provider Partners using the services of Moneycorp for all foreign exchange matters, SOS Global Express for freight forwarding and logistic support, Translive global providing translation and interpretation support and within UK Virgin Trains. More news on new partnerships in the next edition.

So if you are looking to raise your profile in the specialist global sports events market or need some advice and support for Brazil, Australia, Qatar and increasingly Russia and Japan, do let us know and we can see how we can help. The Membership network includes the best of breed companies so check them out in the MEI Suppliers Directory.
