Core LogoSOCCEREX and Major Events International (MEI) are building on their long term relationship and the success of the ‘Evolution of the Stadium Experience’ panel, held at the recent Soccerex Global Convention in Manchester to work in collaboration during the second day of the inaugural Major Events Summit on Tuesday 27th October 2015 in London, focused on venue technology. This is an area of growing interest and prominence within the industry as organisations look to enhance fan experience and engagement as well as looking at the ‘Return on Investment’ from an increasing range of innovative capabilities. Based on the volume of positive feedback from the Soccerex Global Convention 2015, this will be a growing feature of Soccerex events going forward.

The aim of the Major Events Summit is to provide the communities of MEI and SOCCEREX with a highly interactive, knowledge sharing and profile enhancing opportunity. With a unique mix of attendees from leading edge suppliers with sports and venue key officials, round tables and panels will allow for detailed discussions and new relationships to be formed.

The first day of the Summit on 26th October will focus on Safety and Security for major sporting events and is followed by the MEI awards and sports legend dinner. The Event Services and Venue Operations day on 27th October will focus on the use of technology and best practice generally when running and supplying into events. The outputs from the Summit will help shape content for Soccerex events in 2016.

Commenting on the relationship with SOCCEREX, MEI’s CEO Dennis Mills said:

“The Major Events Summit is an opportunity for our joint supplier and buyer community to meet, identify requirements and suitable solutions as well as sharing lessons learned.  In a format which will encourage maximum attendee participation, this new “must-attend” annual gathering of major sporting events and venue professionals will be run as a cost recovery only event. Attendance will be capped so we encourage you to register your interest as soon as possible if you wish to play a role and attend.”

David Wright, Marketing Director at Soccerex, said:

“Major Football tournaments and the associated industries need to be aware of, and intelligently deploy, the increasingly innovative range of technologies which drive return on investment and fan engagement. This subject is a key part of our plans for 2016 and I am delighted that we can call upon the expertise of MEI and their community to help us shape a meaningful programme of content for those companies involved in this sector. We are delighted to support their Summit in London in October and would encourage our community to get involved which will help us shape our own 2016 content plans. We look forward to seeing you there.”
