RFU confirms involvement at Rugby Expo 2015

Following several years of support from the RFU with a particular focus on developing rugby in the community, Rugby Expo is delighted to announce details of this year’s event.

As the event returns to Twickenham on 26 – 27 November, the RFU has continued its involvement with Rugby Expo for 2015 to help to build on the success of the two day event, which has grown significantly since it was first hosted at Twickenham in 2011.

Senior members of the RFU will be taking to the stage throughout the event including chairman Bill Beaumont CBE, rugby development director Steve Grainger MBE and head of club development Simon Winman, working together to deliver main stage sessions and workshops on the grassroots focused second day. The RFU will also support the event by promoting the free of charge tickets available to all grassroots clubs to attend day two – with over 350 already registered.

On confirming the agreement, RFU CEO Ian Ritchie said, “Holding the community clubs focussed day on a Friday is a good move and has already seen a significant increase in registrations on previous years, an encouraging sign that more grassroots clubs will benefit from Rugby Expo in 2015. The event provides an excellent platform for both the professional and grassroots game to come together to meet, network, learn from each other and in doing so supports the growth and development of all levels of the sport. We’re pleased to re-engage with the event and work with Rugby Expo again this year.”

Jonathan Wilson, event director for Rugby Expo said, “It’s fantastic to be able to confirm the renewed collaboration with the RFU for 2015. The decision to move to a Thursday / Friday was in support of the grassroots clubs’ attendance and we’re delighted with the record number of registrations we’ve received. We look forward to working with both the development and marketing teams at the RFU and making the event a successful one for all involved.”

Taking place at Twickenham on Thursday 26th – Friday 27th November, Rugby Expo 2015 will include a detailed conference programme comprising main stage plenary sessions, summits and workshops alongside a live exhibition showcasing the latest products and innovations in the sport. Following the success of previous years, the two day event will switch its focus from the professional game on day one to grassroots rugby and development on day two.
