About The Foundation. Following 23 years of tireless work rescuing street children in Brazil, the Happy Child International Foundation has been established to protect children from exploitation around international major global sporting events.

Football World Cup 2014. At the World Cup in Rio 2014 many children, some as young as 12, were dressed up to look much older and exploited. Our ‘It’s a Penalty’ campaign raised awareness to travelling fans of the problem, the penalties and equipped them to make a difference by reporting any sighted child exploitation - there were over 11,000 calls during the games. The campaign  was seen by over 300m people worldwide.

Rio 2016.  A film featuring Usain Bolt and many other leading global athletes. will be seen on British airways, American Airlines, Lufthansa, TAM, Singapore Airlines, TAP and at least 6 other major global airlines reaching over 30 million passengers worldwide. The Rio Olympic Organising Committee has chosen ‘It’s a Penalty’ to be their lead prevention project for child protection for their Olympic Truce 2016.
