Rio mission boost

According to a survey conducted by O Globo newspaper in Brazil, Rio is already starting to reap investments from having been chosen as the host for the 2016 Olympics and the FIFA World Cup in 2014.

The survey showed that at least 15 companies have decided to invest R$1. 452bn in hotels, infrastructure and telecom in the city. The municipal secretary for development, Felipe Gães, is celebrating the fact that Rio is getting an average of three executive missions a week. Before the City was elected to host the Olympics, it used to get only one mission a week.
