Ajax trains in Brazil

Sport Business News

Kentaro Brazil has successfully completed the organisation of a week–long training camp for Ajax of Amsterdam, using the worldclass training facilities of Palmeiras FC and culminating in a friendly match between Palmeiras and Ajax on Saturday 14 January in front of over 25,000 fans in the Pacembeu Stadium.

Kentaro organised all elements of the project, including working with Palmeiras on the delivery of the training camp and the venue for the game itself, the negotiation of a title sponsor deal for the tour with the Brazilian arm of Ajaxs main sponsor, Mongeral Aegon, and a range of second–tier sponsors, such as Adidas. The match, which Palmeiras won 1–0, was shown live on free–to–air channel Bandeirantes, attracting an audience of over 9mi, and was distributed to over 120 countries worldwide via the Kentaro global broadcast team. We are delighted to have come up with a unique and innovative approach to combining the pre–season needs of a European and Brazilian top club with Palmeiras starting their League season next weekend and Ajax shaping up during the winter break, Kentaro Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Hill said. Our experience in organising tours and matches helped us to arrange a perfect training camp that was a huge mutual success, both commercially as well as sportingly. Kentaro Brazil will now build on this success as the South American market offers exciting opportunities prior to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Kentaro has also organised a training camp and two international matches (against the Qatar Olympic team and Bahrain) for the Swedish national team in Qatar over this same period.
