Sao Paulo FC extends deal

Sport Business News

Brazilian football club Sao Paulo has extended its shirt sponsorship deal with education company Wizard, as it continues to seek a new major sponsor.

Wizard initially agreed a deal early this year that was due to expire at the end of April 2012, but it has now put pen to paper on an extension through to December 2014. Wizards brand will be displayed on the sleeves of Sao Paulos shirt, while it will also be engaged in a new social programme. The project will be held in cities where Sao Paulo travel to play this season and will see Wizard support a donation programme to local charities. Sáo Paulo FC marketing director RogÉ David said: " Having a Wizard logo stamped on the shirt is a source of great pride. So we are celebrating this renewal, particularly for such a long time. We always offer our sponsors the opportunity to activate their brands in conjunction with our strength. Wizard immediately supported this social action, which has everything to be a success. " Claudio Tienghi, the director of social responsibility at Wizard, added: " Wizard is a brand concerned with including the theme of sustainability increasingly in its actions. A partnership with Sáo Paulo quickly built four hands and we'll work making our schools collect items to benefit society. ","43
