Sport Business News

With a view to creating new links between the two countries in the areas of sport and major event planning, the Brazil–Australia Official Chamber of Commerce, with support from Austrade, the Australian International Sporting Events Secretariat and the Australia–Latin America Business Council has recently launched a Brazil to Australia trade mission targeting the wide range of Brazilian groups involved with the 2014 FIFA World Cup and Rio 2016 Olympics.

Expected delegates include key contacts from the local organising committees of the 12 FIFA World Cup 2014 host cities and those from Rio 2016, state and federal government level sport, tourism and development personnel, specialist major event infrastructure and organisation companies, and other groups involved with Brazil's increasingly exciting sport and major event industries. The mission is scheduled for 11–17 April 2010 and will include visits to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, with the delegation to attend a number of important presentations, business–matching opportunities, stadium and sport precinct tours and networking events.
