Casa Brasil Gets Ready

Bringing a touch of Samba to the heart of London for two whole months, Somerset House will receive a distinctly carnival-esque makeover this summer as the Brazilian Olympic Committee sets up home on the Strand throughout the London Olympics and Paralympics.

Casa Brasil will be keen to make a big impact and impress in preparation for the Rio Games in 2016, plus showcase the best of Brazilian culture and celebrate their sporting successes. As part of Casa Brasil, there will be an exciting free exhibition of contemporary visual arts, design and fashion open to the public in the Embankment Galleries from 21st July to 8th September, celebrating the South American nation's rich cultural offering.

The prestigious Somerset House was a Tudor palace once occupied by Elizabeth I, and will be a perfect location for the next Olympic host nation to receive the world's journalists, authorities and tourists who will be keen to enjoy the vibrancy of the Brazilian lifestyle and sneak a glimpse into what the 2016 Games may have in store.
