People around the world were able to contribute to and participate in an unprecedented event in Olympic history with just with the tips of their fingers.

The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) in collaboration with the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad and its digital edition (CODE) invited everyone watching, listening, or reading about their favourite athletes or sports to receive a unique digital memento that was sent out " in the moment" while billions of eyes were focused on the pageantry of the Opening Ceremony. On 12 February 2010 during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, an official Olympic souvenir wasdelivered digitally to those that had signed up for the experience as well as a coveted digital ticket to a global social media event that gave participants the opportunity to be a virtual participant at the Closing Ceremony.
